How To Stay

Families with a child being treated at a local hospital may be eligible to stay at our Ronald McDonald House programs.

Families are admitted based on available rooms and medical priorities.  We ask for a $15 donation per night, but families are never turned away for financial reasons.

Eligibility

Our Ronald McDonald House programs can support up to 56 families each night. To be eligible, families must fulfill the following qualifications:

  • Patients must be 21 years or younger
  • The patient must be receiving treatment at a local medical or mental health facility
  • All individuals 18 years and older must submit and pass a background check

Admissions Process

For a family’s first stay, a referral from a social worker, medical professional or physician’s office staff member from the treatment facility is required. The representative should call our office at (202) 529-8204 between 8am and 9pm to start this process.

Because we manage our occupancy around the uncertainty of illness and treatment, we may experience unpredictable room shortages. Once you have been cleared to stay, please call the House 48 hours in advance of your planned arrival to ensure that space will be available.
